UPESSC PRT Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026

Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Teacher (Primary Teacher PRT) posts, with 12,405 vacancies. Applications are open from September 16, 2026, to October 15, 2026. The minimum age requirement is 21 years, and the maximum is 40 years as of July 1, 2026.

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)

• Minimum Age : 21 Years
• Maximum Age : 40 Years For Assistant Teacher (Primary – Urban)
• Maximum Age : 62 Years For Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary)
• UPESSC provides age relaxation for the UP PRT Assistant Teacher position as per their regulations.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a Graduation degree from a university established by law in India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
• They must also possess a recognized teacher-training qualification such as BTC, BTC (Urdu), Special BTC, 2-year Diploma in Special Education approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), 4-year B.El.Ed., or a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) recognized under the NCTE Regulations, 2002.
• Candidates must also have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the State Government or Government of India.
• Note: The BTC course is currently conducted under the name D.El.Ed.
• For Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary): Candidates must have a Graduation degree from a university established by law in India or a recognized/deemed university/institution, along with a BTC or D.El.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized course. Candidates must also have successfully passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or Government of India for Classes 01 to 05.
