Job Description

Staff Selection Commission has announced that One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory for all candidates applying to SSC exams in 2025, including CGL, GD, CHSL, MTS, JE, and others. OTR registration, now Aadhaar-enabled, must be completed online at ssc.gov.in. The correction window for OTR details is open until June 30, 2025. Candidates must register to apply for any SSC recruitment exam.

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS : No Fee (OTR is free for all candidates)
  • SC / ST / PwD / Female / Ex-Servicemen : No Fee
  • Note: Exam-wise application fees are charged separately for each SSC exam after OTR.

Age Limit & Selection Process

  • Age Limit: No age restriction for OTR registration. Exam-wise age criteria apply as per individual notifications (generally 18-32 years depending on post).
  • Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules for each SSC exam (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwD: 10-15 years, Ex-Servicemen: as per rules).
  • Selection Process: OTR is only for registration. Actual selection process involves Computer Based Test (CBT), Descriptive Test, Skill Test, Physical Test (where applicable), and Document Verification as per respective SSC exam.

  • Group C Posts (e.g., CHSL, MTS): Level 1 to 5 – ₹18,000 to ₹92,300/- (7th Pay Commission) + allowances

Exam Difficulty & Competition Analysis

  • Difficulty Level: High (Most SSC exams have high competition and moderate to difficult level questions)
  • Expected Applications: 25,00,000+ for SSC CGL; 30,00,000+ for SSC CHSL; 40,00,000+ for SSC GD; 15,00,000+ for SSC MTS
  • Competition Ratio: Approximately 1:200 to 1:400 for major SSC exams
  • Previous Cut-off Range (General): 120-145 marks (CGL Tier 1 out of 200); 130-155 marks (CHSL Tier 1 out of 200); varies by exam and year
